NIRSA On Your Mind? The Region II Conference is quickly approaching and the Student Professional Development Committee would like to welcome you to the 2016 Region II Student Lead On!
Professional development has always been of the utmost importance to NIRSA, so the 2016 Region II Professional Development Committee is ecstatic to host you on Monday, October 31st as a precursor to our favorite conference of the year! There is no better way to kick off the Region II Conference than with a day full of thought-provoking presentations, team-building activities, and networking opportunities all geared toward students. The framework for this day is carefully crafted to be inclusive for various learning styles – visual, audible, and kinesthetic – to ensure you will be maximizing the opportunities presented to you.
Activities will be held from 7:30 am to 2:30 pm at the Georgia Institute of Technology Campus Recreation Center. Do not miss out on a chance to set yourself up for success, not simply for the Region II Conference, but for the rest of your professional career!
Keynote Speaker - Aaron Hobson
Aaron Hobson is an Associate Director at the University of Florida and a successful Student Affairs professional. For the past six years, Aaron has poured into the lives of students across the nation. Beginning his professional career as a Graduate Assistant at The Ohio State University, Aaron has served students in multiple capacities at numerous universities including the University of Wisconsin-Madison as the Assistant Director of Competitive Sports before moving into the Associate Director of Programs. This past year, Aaron rejoined the University of Florida after previously working at UF in 2012.
At the 2016 Annual Conference in Kissimmee, FL, Aaron was honored with the Region III Horace Moody Award. This award recognizes one NIRSA professional member from each of the six NIRSA regions who contributes to student development through encouragement, support, and commitment to excellence. Aaron continuously pushes students to reach their highest potential through mentorship and dedication.
